About

EstherwithPiano

Esther knits! I will be posting free knitting and crochet patterns and giving lots of ideas and how-tos about the fibre arts.  It is my mission to produce professionally written knitting patterns and to inspire, inform and assist others with their knitting.  I love to talk to other knitters and I am happy to help if I can – so stop and say hello.

I grew up in Scotland where the winters were cold and the money was scarce. I started knitting at primary school when I was 9 and got my first knitting machine at 16. I am mainly self taught and now hand knit, machine knit, loom knit and crochet. I often found it difficult to find the exact pattern I wanted and so I taught myself how to write patterns. I have had patterns and articles published in knitting magazines and have also taught knitting in the past.

My business is called Esther Kate Designs and I trade under the name estherkate.   Although my patterns are copyrighted, I do not mind if you use my patterns to make items and sell them. If you want to use my patterns in your blog, please contact me. I knit baby layettes, hats and scarves, sweaters and more.  I knit for charities and for friends.

It is nice to know that there are lots of other knitters out there. Thanks for supporting my ventures and my life.   I look forward to getting to know you 🙂
