Measurements

Doll Height: 22 cm (8½ inches)

Materials

Robin Double Knit in various colours

used double throughout

Knifty-Knitter small round loom with 24 pegs

Loom pick tool

Polyester fibrefill to stuff doll

Tension / Gauge

15 sts and 24 rows to 10 cm (4 inches)

Pattern Notes

The doll is knitted using flat stitch.  The flat stitch on a loom is the same as the stockinette stitch on knitting needles.

To make doll

Using the Knifty-Knitter loom with 24 pegs, cast-on all pegs using the e-wrap cast on method.

Using colour A for shoes

Rounds 1 – 5: Knit all pegs using a flat stitch. (do not e-wrap).

Using colour B for trousers

Rounds 6 – 19: Knit all pegs using a flat stitch. (do not e-wrap).

Using colour C and D for sweater

Rounds 20 – 31: Knit all pegs using a flat stitch. (do not e-wrap).

Using colour E for face

Rounds 32 – 41: Knit all pegs using a flat stitch. (do not e-wrap).

Using colour C and D for hat

Rounds 42 – 52: Knit all pegs using a flat stitch. (do not e-wrap).

Thread yarn through stitches and remove from loom.

 To make up / Finishing

Join bottom seam.  Stuff body.  With matching yarn, form arms with small backstitches through all layers from waist to two rows beneath the neck.  Define the legs and feet in the same way from the bottom to a little below the waistline.  Weave a strand of matching yarn across the neck rows.  Draw up to form neck and secure ends.  Draw up top of doll to form top of hat.  Add a small pom pom for the hat.  Embroider facial featured.  Weave in ends.
